do you have the phone plugged directly in a USB solar panel?
It feels like we’re at a point where it could be worth consolidating resources about all this?

It is fairly common to know about the solar power Low tech magazine website. Here is another example but using an old android phone running postmarketOS on a solar panel to host the website.

One thing I found that is lacking in this space (solar powered pmos smartphones) is how to deal with the battery of the phone. For instance, usually when you do this, the state of the battery in the phone is at best quite poor, or at worse is on the edge of becoming a spicy pillow.

I think things become much more interesting when you can get rid of the original battery and develop another way to provide power but AFAIK only a handful of smartphones can be booted without a battery, and it’s not straightforward
