[Discuss] Applying critiques of permaculture to permacomputing

Given the political orientation of this community I’m sure many of us are aware of some of the critiques of permaculture, as discussed in this article among many others:

Since permacomputing draws inspiration from permaculture, I have been curious to try and translate these critiques into relevant guidance for the permacomputing movement. One common permaculture critique is the claim that it effectively whitewashes and commodifies indigenous knowledge. I think a translation of this critique into the permacomputing realm could be: what marginalized knowledge systems contribute to permacomputing as a concept, and how to we make them more visible while ensuring their empowerment within permacomputing’s development?

Here is an article on applying decolonial and postcolonial ideas to computering and human-computer interaction. Curious to hear others’ thoughts.
