Releasebot!

Here is a wel­come new entry to the cat­e­gory “things I was sorta thinking about building for myself, but then some­body else actu­ally made a nice, pol­ished product”: Releasebot aggre­gates changelogs and release notes from all the plat­forms and APIs you use, and sends you a con­cise daily digest with links to the details. (You can also get this digest as an RSS feed, or even a JSON object.)

Changelogs are inter­esting documents, because they don’t only announce “here’s some­thing that will break soon” but also “here’s some new capability”—and, for me, that tends to be fuel for the imagination.

Releasebot is clean and useful, and it’s very easy to request addi­tional changelogs for inclusion. It seems like building a little busi­ness here wouldn’t be too difficult, with some light adver­tising to a very tar­geted group of developers.
